INDEPENDENCE DAY

Happy Fourth of July (from Canada) !

Yes, we are still in Peterborough Marina and having a great time ... But, we do miss friends, family and USA traditions on July 4th.

We enjoyed a nice BBQ on the 4th: steak, corn and a tomato salad - Yum!

A lot of exercise the last few days, long bike rides and paddles  - finally seems like summer weather :)

Thanks for all of the B Day wishes ... Reenie really appreciated them being a long way from home XO.

Great start to the Fourth of July Holiday with a paddle to our favorite tea shop in Peterborough, the "Silver Bean Cafe".

Our adventures the last two days:
July 4th (Red Line) a bike ride from Peterborough to Lakefield about 20 miles round trip on a well maintained trail.
July 5th (Blue Line) a paddle from Peterborough along the River passing 2 locks, about 9 miles round trip.

We rode bikes to Lakefield for the July 4th Jazz - Art - Craft Festival.

A Birthday treat for Reenie in Lakefield :)

A wonderful Birthday Celebration with Captain Greg XO.

A Firework Flower Bouquet, the Peterborough Marina Crew sang Happy Birthday and the Harbor Host presented a B Day Balloon ... THANKS!

Our July 5th Paddle...On the way back, the Lift Operator let us ride down on our paddle boards,  instead of the 250 meter portage. Crazy fun and sooooooooo exciting !!! (No pictures yet, as lift operator said it was against the rules, and we don't want to get anyone in trouble!).

Yeah... USA :)

Happy Fourth of July to you XO.
