HASTINGS to PETERBOROUGH

After checking the weather Thursday night, we decided to make the journey all the way to PETERBOURGH Marina on Friday morning. Our original plan was to arrive in PETERBOURGH on Monday or Tuesday, although the weather report indicated significant rain and wind for the weekend...Safety First! The trip was a long one, about 40 miles through Rice Lake, The Otonabee River and one Lock on the Trent Severn Waterway. We departed at 7 AM and docked by 1:30 PM.

The weather was perfect on Friday! We enjoyed crossing Rice Lake and tried our luck at fishing (no luck yet?).

Well...The weather report was correct, it rained, rained and rained almost all weekend in PETERBOURGH! This did not dampen (bad joke) our spirit or stop us with any activities! We biked, attended the local Farmers Market, watched the USA vs China World Cup Game, went to a movie, enjoyed a few concerts and inflated our SUP Boards for the first time this summer! We also completed a few maintenance projects and laundry.

The City of PETERBOURGH has a population approaching 80,000. The Marina is in the downtown area, with everything we need in walking distance. More about PETERBOURGH in the next post because we are here for awhile.... :)

Greg Quote of the day, "Who would have thought, that so far this summer, we are happier to have a heater aboard Thistle than an air-conditioner?"

Perfect weather Friday.

HASTINGS to PETERBOURGH - Our navigation course in Green.

Rice Lake, world famous fishing.

The Jack Pot $ Pool is getting bigger... Who will catch the first fish?
( Friends & Family welcome to join :)

We made it to PETERBOURGH ... There is a fountain by the Marina (illuminated in color at night).

PETERBOURGH Saturday Farmer's Market. The Birdhouses were our favorite!

Saturday night Music Fest in the rain!

Randy Bachman...Great Show!

In the Marina.

Rainey day activity :)

More music and the World Cup... watching the World Cup was pretty interesting in Canada, the NHL draft was on TV at the same time ( we had to find a nice bartender to change channels ...not everyone was happy ?).

Almost a Full Moon over PETERBOURGH Marina.
