CAMELOT ISLAND to LEEK ISLAND & back to GANANOQUE

Good morning...from GANANOQUE (Yes, we are back in Gan?)

We spent the last two days on a mooring at Leek Island, in the Thousand Island National Park. The weather was beautiful, sunny warm and very little wind. ( I know it's cliche but, feeling like it was another two days in paradise :)

The Thousand Island National Park Canada was established in 1904. The park is in the 1,000 Island Region of the St. Lawerence River. The Islands are actually the worn down tops of ancient mountians. This Region, The Frontenac Axis, connects the Canadian Shield to the New York, Adirondack Mountians. The Park consists of 21 Islands and many smaller inlets. Lucky for us, most of the Thousand Islands National Park is only accessible by boat.

Now, for a little bit of Thistle drama.... We experienced a malfunction with our thruster control on Wednesday? Not good...as that's how we steer to the lock walls, docks, moorings etc. After some trouble shooting we ordered a replacement Lewmar thruster controller to be delivered overnight to the GANANOQUE Inn (we needed an address and the Inn was happy to help us out ... With a free dock and Reenie had the pleasure of another bath :)

The part was delivered by noon on Thursday. Captain Greg was able to install the new thruster controller with success and I am happy so say we are back in action :)

Looper Tip: Marineoutfitters in Kingston was able to ship us our part overnight to the Gananoque Inn for $14 CAD shipping.

Our course the last couple of days:

Thursday was another picture perfect day, on the St. Lawerence River for kayaking and sailing.

The new Lewmar thruster control is working :)

Interesting items at the local Hardwear Store (processed wood adirondack chairs in every color imaginable, YUM fish bait and more colorful fly swatters).
