While in the Thousand Island region we have enjoyed THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING on our salads ... An option we don't typically find at home in California. We thought you might enjoy the history of 1,000 Island Dressing...and possibly inspire you to try the recipe :)

There are many variations to this recipe ... Low calorie with yogurt (no mayo), adding a little heat (Tabasco?), seasoning (salt/pepper?) and/or citrus (lemon?).
Yum...THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING is offered at all the restaurants in the Thousand Islands :)
It's old fashion delicious no matter who created it originally !
Pretty sure the sauce at In-and-Out Burger is a variation on Thousand Island, too...
